&lt;p&gt;Zavod za procesno inženjerstvo usmjeren je na razvoj novih metoda vođenja, kontrole i sigurnosti tehnoloških procesa u prehrambenoj industriji i biotehnologiji. Kroz brojne znanstvene i tehnologijske projekte, Zavod unaprjeđuje tehnološke postupke obrade i proizvodnje hrane u Europskom istraživačkom prostoru.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;h3 class="pbf-title-flat"&gt;Nastavna djelatnost&lt;/h3&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Na prijediplomskim i diplomskim studijima radi stjecanja zvanja prvostupnika i magistra struke, kao i na poslijediplomskom doktorskom studiju, studenti stječu znanja iz:&lt;/p&gt;

	&lt;li&gt;Matematičke grupe kolegija, fizike i informatike&lt;/li&gt;

	&lt;li&gt;Fenomena prijelaza i jediničnih operacija.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Postavljanja materijalnih i energetskih bilanci u biotehnologiji i prehrambenom inženjerstvu.&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;h3 class="pbf-title-flat"&gt;Znanstvena i stručna djelatnost&lt;/h3&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Istraživački rad djelatnika Zavoda obuhvaća područje prirodnih znanosti (matematika i fizika)&amp;nbsp;specifična područja procesnog inženjerstva:&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;ul class="pbf-list-flat"&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Karakterizacija stupnja izmiješanosti praškastih materijala i određivanje raspodjele veličine čestica.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Analiza teksturalnih svojstava prehrambenih proizvoda.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Primjena ultrazvuka i visokih hidrostatskih tlakova u prehrambenoj tehnologiji i biotehnologiji.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Razvoj i unaprjeđenje tehnoloških postupaka obrade i proizvodnje hrane.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Djelatnici su aktivni članovi međunarodnih organizacija (ISEKI, EAFE – European Academy of Food Engineering) te sudjeluju u brojnim projektima poput FP6, UNIDO, COST, TEMPUS, ERASMUS i EU strukturnih fondova. Kroz tehnologijske projekte, laboratoriji Zavoda intenzivno surađuju s nizom prehrambenih tvrtki.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;At the Department of Process Engineering, students gain essential knowledge in various branches of process engineering, from theoretical foundations to practical applications in biotechnology and food engineering. Through a modern approach to teaching and research, the Department educates professionals capable of solving complex challenges in industry.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;h3 class="pbf-title-flat"&gt;Teaching Activities&lt;/h3&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Teaching is conducted at undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels, leading to the degrees of Bachelor, Master of Engineering, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), covering areas such as:&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;At the Department of Process Engineering, students acquire knowledge in various branches of process engineering, mathematical modelling, process management, optimisation and control of technological processes, thermodynamics, measurement, regulation and automation, transport phenomena, unit operations, and material and energy balances in biotechnology and food engineering through undergraduate and graduate studies leading to Bachelor and Master of Engineering degrees. Teaching at the postgraduate level is also included in the Department's curriculum for the attainment of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The development of new methods for the management, control and safety of technological processes in the food industry, characterisation of the mixing degree of powdered materials, determination of particle size distribution, analysis of textural properties of food products, and the application of ultrasound and high hydrostatic pressure in food technology and biotechnology are integral parts of the Department's work.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The Department conducts research activities on numerous scientific and technological projects. Department staff are active members of international organisations (ISEKI – Integrating Food Science and Engineering Knowledge Into the Food Chain; EAFE – European Academy of Food Engineering) and international projects (FP6, UNIDO, COST, TEMPUS, ERASMUS, EU Structural Funds, and bilateral projects) with the aim of connecting with research groups within the European Research Area. In this way, they develop and improve technological processes for food processing and production.&lt;/p&gt;
