Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology (FFTB) actively develops international cooperation as a vital part of its scientific, educational, and professional activities. Through partnerships with higher education institutions, research centers, and industry in Europe and worldwide, the Faculty encourages the exchange of knowledge, the development of joint educational and research activities, and staff mobility.

The international dimension of work contributes to teaching quality and the strengthening of research capacities. Teaching staff participate in mobility through guest lectures, professional development, and work on joint projects, while non-teaching staff are also involved in the internationalization process through professional exchanges and the strengthening of institutional capacities. The Faculty also encourages incoming mobility of teachers and researchers, further enriching the academic and scientific environment.

Mobilities are realized through the Erasmus+ programs, Central European Exchange Program for University Studies (CEEPUS), the University of Zagreb Academic Mobility program, bilateral agreements, and projects funded through Horizon Europe and other international initiatives.

Erasmus+ Staff Mobility

The Erasmus+ program enables the mobility of teaching and non-teaching staff for the purpose of:

delivering teaching at partner institutions
professional development (job shadowing, Staff Week)
development of international cooperation and projects

Mobilities are carried out within program countries (KA131) and between program and partner countries (KA107/ KA171), in accordance with the calls for applications from the University of Zagreb.

CEEPUS

The Central European Exchange Programme for University Studies (CEEPUS) is a regional academic exchange program that promotes study and research mobilities for students and teachers within the Central and South-Eastern European region.

The program is implemented through CEEPUS networks — partnerships of higher education institutions from multiple countries. Through CEEPUS mobilities, teachers can:

deliver teaching or guest lectures at partner institutions
participate in short-term and long-term mobilities
participate in summer schools and intensive programs
develop and deepen research and teaching cooperation
establish new regional projects and partnerships

University of Zagreb Academic Mobility

The University of Zagreb Academic Mobility program enables:

outgoing mobility to strategic partners
mobility to institutions worldwide
mobility for doctoral students (active participation in conferences)
incoming mobilities and development of new collaborations

The call for applications is published twice a year (spring and autumn), and funding is awarded in the form of a lump sum grant.
