Year One – Foundation of the Programme

The programme is based on the existing study programmes in Biotechnology, Biology and Health (University of Orléans), Molecular Biotechnology (PBF), and Molecular Biology (PMF). The first year of the programme is delivered at the home institutions in accordance with the accredited study programmes.

II/1

Year Two – Winter Semester (Zagreb)

The second year of study is joint for students of PBF, PMF, and the University of Orléans, and is delivered by academic staff from both universities. During the winter semester, students enrolled in the programme attend courses at the University of Zagreb, where they jointly follow courses amounting to 19 ECTS credits. The remaining 11 ECTS credits are organized by the University of Orléans through videoconferencing from Orléans or, when possible, in person by professors from Orléans.

II/2

Year Two – Summer Semester (France)

In January, students from both universities complete practical training modules in Chemical Analysis Techniques and Gene Therapy at the University of Orléans. All teaching is conducted in English. During the summer semester (between January and June), students from Zagreb stay in France to complete the practical component of their master’s thesis lasting 5 to 6 months, while students from Orléans may complete their thesis either in France or in Croatia.

Awarding of Degrees

Upon fulfilling all study requirements and successfully defending the master’s thesis, students are awarded degrees from both the University of Orléans and the University of Zagreb.
