/en/faculty/organization/general-affairs-unit/library/citation-certificates (Webmaster) (Webmaster) 240 Tue, 21 Apr 2026 11:15:06 GMT Content <table border="0" width="100%"><tr><td> <section class="container my-4"> <header class="mb-4"> <h2 class="mb-2">Certificate of Citation and Indexing</h2> </header> <section class="mb-4"> <p class="mb-3">The Library issues the following certificates:</p> <ul class="ps-3 mb-0"> <li>Certificate of presence and citation of scientists' works in relevant databases for appointment to scientific titles</li> <li>Certificate of presence and citation of scientists' works in relevant databases for the purpose of state and other awards or for the purpose of reaccreditation</li> </ul> </section> <section class="mb-4"> <p class="mb-2">Scientific presence and citation is one of the parameters for evaluating scientific productivity and its impact through citations in relevant databases.</p> <p class="mb-2">Presence, i.e., indexing of scientific papers, is checked in relevant databases as prescribed by the National Science Council's regulations on conditions for appointment to scientific titles, for specific scientific fields.</p> <p class="mb-0">Citation refers to the total number of citations of a scientist's published works in citation databases.</p> </section> <div class="alert alert-warning mb-4" role="alert">To have a certificate issued, it is necessary to send to the email <a class="fw-bold" href="mailto:jvilicic@pbf.hr">jvilicic@pbf.hr</a> a list of works that are being scored and for which a citation certificate is required, at least <span class="fw-bold">five working days in advance</span>.</div> <section class="mb-4"> <h2 class="h3 mb-3">Interlibrary Loan of Books and Journals</h2> <p class="mb-2">Books can be borrowed from any domestic library, as well as from libraries abroad. Among foreign libraries, the rich collection of the British Library is recommended, but other international sources can also be used, usually through the mediation of the National and University Library.</p> <p class="mb-2">Borrowing is charged according to the valid price list of the library lending the material, converted at the CNB exchange rate on the day of receipt of the publication.</p> <p class="mb-0">In addition to books, photocopies of articles can also be ordered. Photocopies are ordered through the NSK and are charged according to their valid price list.</p> </section> <section class="mb-4"> <h2 class="h3 mb-3">Issuing UDC Numbers</h2> <p class="mb-2">Universal Decimal Classification (UDC) is a general classification scheme used in libraries worldwide. It consists of main and auxiliary tables that provide a unique number for subject indexing and easier searching of information contained in works.</p> <p class="mb-3">Issuing UDC numbers applies to specialist and doctoral theses.</p> <p class="mb-2 fw-bold">To have a UDC number issued, it is necessary to send:</p> <ul class="ps-3 mb-3"> <li>The basic documentation card</li> <li>The abstract of the work</li> </ul> <div class="alert alert-info mb-0" role="alert">The documentation must be sent to the email <a class="fw-bold" href="mailto:jvilicic@pbf.hr">jvilicic@pbf.hr</a> at least <span class="fw-bold">five days before the binding of the work</span>.
