Doctoral Thesis Proposal

The procedure for obtaining a doctorate is initiated exclusively through the online doctoral candidate database (OBAD) of the University of Zagreb by completing form DR.SC.-01. Other forms are to be completed in accordance with the following instructions:

Enrolment into Higher Years

To enrol in the third year, the following is required:

selection and submission of the doctoral thesis proposal (synopsis, topic)
selection of a supervisor
a total of 35 ECTS credits earned in the first and second year of study - form OB-US-05

Course Structure

The programme offers maximum flexibility in the choice of courses and tracks.

The doctoral programme is designed to give doctoral candidates great freedom in choosing modules. It is possible to compose a programme that is almost exclusively bioprocess (engineering) oriented or more focused on (molecular) biotechnology.

Alternatively, a programme in food technology, nutrition, or any combination of these in all possible ratios that best suits your research work can be selected.

Coursework

A total of 30 ECTS.

3 core courses (15 ECTS).
5 elective courses (15 ECTS).
