Description:
The aim is to present to the students of nutrition the theoretical concepts and research in sociology and psychology of food; to situate food and nutrition in the wider ecological cultural system stressing the interaction of subsystems within the complex relation of society, culture and individual; understanding of social context of food and socio-cultural shaping of the nutrition models regarding sex, age and social status. Also, students are introduced with developmental, cognitive, and psycho-physiological models of food choice; with the correlation of emotional, psychological and physiological needs of food, symptoms of food disorders and factors which contribute to its development. The subject also train the students for active and competent cooperation in interdisciplinary environment.
