International Double Degree Programme with the University of Orléans

Université d’Orléans

Students of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology (PBF), Master’s Programme in Molecular Biotechnology, and students of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Science (PMF), Master’s Programme in Molecular Biology, after completing the first year of these graduate programmes, have the opportunity to continue their studies at the renowned French University of Orléans, located near Paris. The University of Orléans and the University of Zagreb (PBF and PMF) jointly organize the Biotechnology and Molecular Biology (BMB) programme in the field of science and technology, designed to educate specialists for work in various areas of biotechnical and molecular sciences. The aim of the programme is to provide students with competences and knowledge in biotechnology and molecular biology, particularly new skills and expertise in modern techniques applied in bioindustry and healthcare.

The programme lasts two semesters (60 ECTS). During the winter semester, the programme takes place in Zagreb, while during the summer semester students stay in France to complete the practical part of their master’s thesis lasting 5 to 6 months.

Upon successful completion, students receive degrees from both universities: the University of Orléans and the University of Zagreb.

Application Procedure

Students apply through PBF’s internal call published by UMSAM via the Faculty website and the Merlin system. Selected candidates are eligible for Erasmus+ financial support for mobility.
