Bioprocess Engineering

The program includes the multidisciplinary application of biochemistry, microbiology, fundamental engineering disciplines, and biochemical engineering in solving interdisciplinary tasks.

The graduate study of Bioprocess Engineering is organized as an independent program and directly continues from the undergraduate study of Biotechnology. It has an emphasized engineering focus that trains students for the planning, design, and management of biotechnological processes. A Master of Bioprocess Engineering transfers biological and engineering knowledge into industrial production, as well as into processes for processing and preserving biological materials and wastewater treatment.

Industrial Biotechnology

Experts of this profile are trained for process development and the application of biotechnological aspects in the industry for the production of biofuels, biochemicals, and ecological materials such as bioplastics, biopolymers, drugs, pharmaceutical preparations, and enzymes, using the principle of sustainability. New methods and integrated processes for the sustainable production of chemicals from renewable sources and the application of microorganisms for the utilization of various types of waste are explored.
