Laboratory for Physical Chemistry and Corrosion was established in 1956 as the Department of Physical Chemistry within the Faculty of Chemistry, Food Technology, and Mining.
With the founding of the Faculty of Technology, the Department changed its name to the Laboratory for Physical Chemistry of the Biotechnology Section. Following the reorganization of the Faculty of Technology in 1975, the Laboratory operated within the unified Department of Physical Chemistry as part of the OOUR Institute of Engineering Chemistry of the Faculty of Technology.
Upon the founding of the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology in 1979, the Laboratory for Physical Chemistry and Corrosion became an integral part of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
